Crisis intervention
Trained counselors are available to provide confidential assistance by phone, text, or chat. To text, send "START" to 678-678.

Resources
The Trevor Project offers self-care guides, educational articles, and other informational pieces about LGBTQ+ young people.

Research
The Trevor Project produces original research that highlights the experiences of LGBTQ+ young people and contributes to the field of suicide prevention. For example, a 2020 study published in the American Journal of Public Health found that young people who underwent conversion therapy were more likely to attempt suicide. In 2023, a national survey found that 15% of LGBTQ+ young people had been threatened with or subjected to conversion therapy.

The Trevor Project was founded in 1998 by the creators of the Academy Award-winning short film Trevor, which is about an LGBTQ teen who attempts suicide. The filmmakers wanted to include a suicide lifeline number in the film for young people who might feel like the character, but couldn't find one, so they created the Trevor Lifeline.
